Topic:  Holding Alternative Assets in IRA’s

Speaker:  Henry Yoshida, founder of Rocket Dollar

$9.5 Trillion are stuck in IRAs invested in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds and their retirement dollars are at the whim of the market. Henry Yoshida, CFP, Co-Founder of Rocket Dollar will talk about unlocking IRAs and 401(k)s to discover new quantitative investment concepts and diversifying retirement accounts using non publicly traded investments as well as much more.

Learning Objectives:  Educate Advisors on why alternative and non-standard assets are important asset allocations to a diversified portfolio and how best to obtain these investments in a tax efficient manner.  Analysis on how non-publicly traded investments can diversify portfolios and their income generation during downturns and volatile times of the market.

Speaker:  Scott Dawson, First Trust Portfolios

Prior to Rocket Dollar, Yoshida was the co-founder of Honest Dollar, a robo-advisor retirement platform that was acquired by Goldman Sachs, as well as a founder of MY Group LLC, a $2.5-billion assets under management investment firm.

‍He is a NextGen Venture and Central Texas Angel Network Partner, as well as a Techstars and Capital Factory mentor. In addition, Yoshida is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and a former Merrill Lynch Vice President. He was a two time finalist for PLANSPONSOR’s Retirement Plan Advisor of the Year and a 401(k) Leadership finalist for the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Yoshida graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and holds an MBA from both the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University and Queen’s University in Canada. He resides in Austin with his wife and two daughters.
