Financial Planning Analyst, Ameriprise Financial
Position Description:  

Step into an instrumental role. Help conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced—and friendly— financial planning office. Work as an employee of an independent advisor with a financial advisory  practice of Ameriprise Financial. Assist in daily business operations.  

The Financial Planning Analyst will primarily assist the financial advisor in the financial planning  workflow. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and  legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.  

This role provides client relationship support through managing, gathering and analyzing client data,  helping prepare preliminary financial plans and other client deliverables, working with clients to resolve  issues and other practice management tasks as needed. Responds to ad hoc requests,  coordinates/tracks projects and/or manages business-as-usual projects such as organizing a client  seminar.  

Responsibilities and Time Allocation – Will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can  include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

Position Functions:  

Financial Planning & Advice / Product Solutions  

  • Prepare preliminary financial planning recommendations and initial product solutions for  advisor review and use in client meetings  
  • Prepare charts, graphs, tables and other visual aids to be used in implementation meetings with  clients  
  • Develop portfolio/robust product solution recommendations that will fit the client’s risk  tolerance and time frame as well as develop appropriate product deliverables  
  • Help manage client account transfer cases to include analyzing transfer eligibility, generating  forms, and tracking cases to completion 
  • Help manage new business insurance cases including generating illustrations, evaluating  coverage options, preparing applications, and managing case statuses 
  • Help track and monitor client Financial Planning arrangements, billing, and due dates 

Client Care / Business Management  

  • Maintain client contact during the financial planning process. Answer questions and provide  readily available information to clients, if requested and as allowable, as it relates to servicing  their accounts 
  • Review and update client information as needed for client review meetings. Attend and  participate in client meetings if necessary.  
  • Manage and resolve client service problems  
  • Perform other allowable duties as assigned by the financial advisor 
  • Provide back up support to other team members when needed

Preferable Qualifications 

  • College degree 
  • 2+ years of industry experience 
  • Already have, or be able to study and pass exams for – federal and state licenses & registrations  for securities including Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance licenses

Position Description:

We are seeking a Client Service Associate who is a successful multi-tasker with strong communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and an ability to leverage technology to drive enterprise efficiency. The ideal candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide superior client service in the account administration process.
  • Prioritize and organize workflow across all facets of the operation and administration of client
  • accounts.
  • Handle backup trading responsibilities. Implement investment purchases and sales across
  • accounts while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Reconcile daily account activity to ensure accuracy.
  • Utilize information technology and software skills to maximize operational efficiency and

  • Assist in the onboarding of new relationships which includes preparing various custodian forms

  • Process client requests (money journals, wire transfers, checks, gifts, retirement account

QUALIFICATIONS / CHARACTERISTICS

  • A minimum of one to two years of experience working in financial planning and/or private
  • wealth management.
  • Previous experience, including internships, involving customer service in financial services industry.
  • BA/BS degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Advent suite of products is preferred.
  • Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Positive demeanor with mindset to learn new tasks and expand responsibilities.

Compensation: 

Base salary plus potential bonus compensation. Comprehensive benefits package including options for medical/dental/visionn coverage, 401(k) retirement plan with employer profit sharing contributions, short/long term disability, group life insurance, and paid time off.
