M.R. Litman, Virginia Estate & Trust Law – M.R. Litman focuses her practice on estate tax planning, estate and trust taxation and administration, business succession planning, and fiduciary litigation. M.R. enjoys working with clients to accomplish their estate planning goals, including the preparation and administration of wills and trusts. M.R. has extensive experience litigating will contests, will and trust construction cases, family and probate disputes, and cases which involve the misconduct of fiduciaries and the misappropriation of funds. She has handled several complex family disputes involving elective share claims, prenuptial agreements, business succession planning, and the administration of estates in multiple jurisdictions.

Alex Badman, Virginia Estate & Trust Law – Alex Badman is an associate at Virginia Estate & Trust Law, PLC. She focuses her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and preparation of gift tax returns, estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. Alex has extensive experience advising multi-generational families on estate tax planning, including the preparation of wills and trusts, and advising executors on the administration of estates with complex assets, such as business interests and real estate. Alex is a member of the Richmond Estate Planning Council and serves on the board of Commonwealth Community Trust. Alex received her undergraduate degree from Trinity College in 2010, and her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2013. Alex is originally from Rhode Island, but is happy to call Richmond home.

 

Sonya Waddell, Richmond Federal Reserve – Sonya Ravindranath Waddell is a vice president and economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Waddell has responsibility for the Regional and Community Development research areas within the Research Department, including setting strategic direction for various data products, surveys, and other regional and local analysis. In addition, she directs the incorporation of regional information into FOMC policy preparation for the Richmond Fed. Her work involves analyzing economic trends, writing for a variety of publications, and presenting on regional and national economic conditions.

Prior to joining the Richmond Fed in 2008, Waddell worked as an economist in the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget and at ICF International in Washington, D.C. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Williams College in 2001 and her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006.
