History

We hope that you find value in the history of the financial planning movement in Indianapolis!

As our FPA Chapter was incorporated prior to the merger between the IAFP and ICFP (Jan. 1, 2000)  we named ourselves THE CENTRAL INDIANA CHAPTER OF THE FINANCIAL PLANNING ASSOCIATION believing the national merger would occur.  Later in 2000 the new ‘National’ FPA asked us if we would change our name to THE FINANCIAL PLANNING ASSOCIATION OF GREATER INDIANA, which we did immediately.

The leading founding member, Gary Pittsford, wrote an essay on this history which included a number of relevant attachments.  Read Gary’s History Essay here.
