It may be news to some that the most important predictor of success in the advisor/advisee relationship is the skills of the advisor, not the condition or presenting issues of the client. Behavioral science serves as a gold mine of information regarding strategies (that the professional has total and exclusive control over) which can significantly enhance the quality of the professional relationship. This presentation will focus on providing simple and immediately implementable “tools” that directly impact the robustness and resiliency of any human relationship, personal or professional and the underlying rational for building these relationships. The tools shared will include external environmental factors as well as intrinsic and personal strategies.
