  • Anne Bednarz – Secretary

    Anne Bednarz, CFP®, AIF® – Chairman

    Anne Bednarz joined Evensky & Katz in January 2012. She is currently a Financial Advisor assisting with preparation of financial plans, investment policy statements, reports and implementation of client accounts.

    Anne attended Texas Tech University for both her bachelor and master degrees. She graduated in December 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Applied Economics, and continued onto a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning which she completed December 2011. Anne completed the CFP® process in March 2014 and followed it with the AIF® designation.

    While Anne attended Texas Tech, she was an active member in the Catholic Student Association. She served on several leadership teams for Raider Awakening, and currently staffs the semi-annual retreat as an alumni.

    Anne is currently a volunteer for the Lubbock-Cooper ISD Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter. She was recently (2013) elected the secretary of the West Texas FPA Chapter. Anne and her husband, Aaron, reside in Lubbock with their sons Casen, Bennett, and Harrison.

  • Greg Deckert, CFP®, CPA, EA, MBA – President, Treasurer

    Greg joined West Texas WealthCare Advisors, Inc. in 2013. He provides comprehensive financial planning services with an emphasis on incorporating tax strategies into the planning engagement. He has been in the tax and financial planning industry since 2005 and has worked with firms in the Lubbock and Dallas areas.

    Greg is a graduate of Texas Tech University and he received the following degrees in 2005 and 2007: BBA Accounting, MBA General Business, & MS Personal Financial Planning. He serves on the board of directors for the South Plains Chapter of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Greg and his wife Melissa currently reside in Lubbock with their three children: Caleb, Anna, and Thomas.

  • Jennifer Coe Dever, CFP®, CRC®, AIF® – Secretary

    Jennifer is a financial planner with Pennington, Bass & Associates a comprehensive financial planning firm located in Lubbock, Texas.  She has been in the financial planning industry since 1995, initially serving as the Executive Assistant to Mark Bass, CFP®. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University in 2005.  In addition to being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER practitioner and CERTIFIED RETIREMENT COUNSELOR practitioner, she is a registered principal and holds a Group 1 insurance license.

    Jennifer has spoken to student and professional organizations, and was instrumental in Pennington, Bass & Associates being awarded the Operational Excellence Award from Cetera Advisors LLC in 2009.  She serves as Secretary of the Greater Southwest Lubbock Rotary Club and previously served on the Personal Financial Planning Alumni Advisory Board.

    Jennifer and her husband Royce live in Lubbock with their sons Trusten and Troy.  She is passionate about and volunteers regularly for Children’s Miracle Network.

  • Jennifer Lehman, Esq., CFP® – Pro Bono Chair

    Jenny Lehman is a Ph.D. student in the personal financial planning department at Texas Tech. She also works as a Graduate Part-Time Instructor. Previous education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from TCU, and Master of Public Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill. Work experience prior to attending Texas Tech includes appellate prosecution in Tarrant County, law school career services, and community college economics instruction. Research interests include estate planning and end of life health care documents, risk management, and retirement planning. Hobbies include live music, hiking, camping, and road trips; she has visited all 50 states.

  • Jennifer Wilson, MS – Pro Bono co-chair

    Jennifer is a Faculty Instructor with a focus in service learning for the department of Personal Financial Planning at Texas Tech University and the Assistant Director of the Personal Finance (PFI) Program. Prior to Texas Tech, she served 3 years in AmeriCorps throughout the country with a focus in financial education, counseling, and resource development. Jennifer graduated in 2016 with a Master’s in Personal Financial Planning with a certificate in Charitable Planning from Texas Tech. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from East Carolina University and an Associate’s degree in Business from Centralia College, where she attended on an athletic scholarship. Jennifer plays an active role in the community by serving on the board of the local VITA Program, volunteering with the Lubbock Area United Way, and connecting her students through service learning to raise financial awareness throughout the city of Lubbock.
