Traditional VA vs. IOVA: An In-depth Analysis

The session analyzes the key differences between traditional variable annuities and investment only variable annuities. Common variable annuity definitions, terminology, and benefit rider concepts will be discussed. Case studies centered around clients who currently own variable annuities were developed to highlight scenarios in which current annuities were kept to preserve insurance benefits, exchanged to access lower cost in an investment only variable annuity, or analyzed to determine a best point in time to take action based on existing CDSC charges. Legacy planning, beneficiary elections, and after death planning with variable annuities is also discussed.
